Missed a dose of Ozempic? What to do

Ozempic has a 5-day window for a late dose, one day longer than Zepbound or Mounjaro. Inside it, take the dose. Outside it, skip it. Here is the rule from the label, with examples.

Key points
  • Within 5 days of the missed dose: take it as soon as possible.
  • More than 5 days: skip it and take the next dose on your regular day.
  • Never double up to catch up.
  • Missed more than one dose? Check with your prescriber first.
  • Changing your day? Keep more than 48 hours between doses.
Before you read onThis is the general rule printed on the label. If you feel unwell or are unsure which dose to take, check with your prescriber or pharmacist before injecting.

The 5-day rule

Take the missed dose as soon as possible within 5 days after the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next dose on your regularly scheduled day.[1]

You can change your weekly day as long as there are at least 2 days (more than 48 hours) between the two doses.[1] Once you have moved, stick to the new day each week.
