LifeMD weight loss review

LifeMD runs an online weight management program that prescribes brand-name GLP-1s and helps you check your insurance. Here is what it costs, what is included, and what to check before you join.

Key points
  • Membership: $39 the first month, then from $75 a month on an annual plan ($149 month to month).
  • Medicine is extra: billed through your insurance or at a self-pay price (the Wegovy pill starts at $149).
  • Included: clinician visits, coaching, an insurance check, and lab tests at Labcorp or Quest in most states.
  • Prescribes: FDA-approved brand-name medicines only.
  • Worth checking: reviewers often say the separate medicine cost was not clear to them at sign-up.

Our take

LifeMD suits people who want a clinician-led program and help working out what their insurance will pay for. The membership is one of the cheaper ones on an annual plan, lab tests are included in most states, and it prescribes FDA-approved brand-name medicines only. The thing to plan for is that the medicine is a separate bill, so your real monthly cost is the membership plus whatever your insurance or the maker's self-pay price leaves you to pay.[1]

What it costs

LifeMD lists $39 for the first month, then as little as $75 a month on an annual plan.[2] Its program page lists $149 a month after the first month if you stay month to month.[3] GLP-1 medicine is billed on top. If you pay yourself, the maker's price for the Wegovy pill starts at $149 a month.[6]

What's included

  • Clinician care. Consultations, prescriptions where appropriate, coaching and ongoing check-ins.[1]
  • Lab tests. Metabolic labs are included when done at Labcorp or Quest, except in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island, where the lab bills you or your insurer.[2]
  • Brand-name medicines. LifeMD lists Wegovy (pill and injection), Zepbound, Foundayo, Saxenda, Ozempic and Mounjaro, plus Triple Therapy, an oral non-GLP-1 option whose medication is included.[1, 2]

Insurance

LifeMD says its team works with your insurer to find out whether your plan covers brand-name GLP-1 medicine, and that medicine is billed separately from the membership. It also says it accepts certain commercial insurance for some services in some states.[1] Its older program page says people with government insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid or TRICARE are not eligible, while its FAQ says coverage may be available for select services for Medicare patients, so confirm before you join.[3, 1] If your plan does not cover it, see how to appeal.

Good to know before you sign up

  • The medicine is a separate bill. The $39 and $75 prices are for the membership only.[1]
  • Refunds are limited. If your insurance does not cover the medicine, LifeMD says you can pay yourself or cancel, but it does not refund months already billed.[3]
  • Check the plan length. The lowest monthly price needs an annual plan.[2]

What customers say

LifeMD has over 4,000 reviews on Trustpilot with an overall score of 3.9 out of 5. Reviewers often praise helpful, professional staff and an easy start. The most common complaints are about fees and rising costs that were not clear at sign-up, and slow replies when trying to sort out an account.[4]

Our checks

Every partner we link to is re-checked every month against five tests: LegitScript certification, FDA warning letters, lawsuits, how the medicine is supplied, and marketing claims.[5] LifeMD passed all five on October 20, 2026. See how we check partners. Passing our checks is not a medical endorsement: whether a medicine is right for you is a clinician's decision.
